I would suggest if you could post on a Sikh forum more widely used, like http://www.sikhsangat.com/ or http://www.sikhnet.com/discussion/ . I am sure there would be alot of Sikhs from that place there. If not, I do not there is anything wrong to go alone, you can ask people around about things, and I am sure they will be glad to explain! If you go on Sundays, more people might be there so it might be easier to get people to show you around.

There are lots of awesome things to see at the Gurdwara! Who says there isn't? And if you go there, please don't leave without eating Langar (The free food offered) :)
