What Guru Ji means is that God is inside of you. The state of Naam is already within your own consciousness. Only the focus on the ego prevents us from experiencing this. That is Maya. If someone is asking others to enlighten him, or expecting a sant or other person to initiate him, then he should be corrected by redirecting the attention within through Paath, simran and meditation. The thing the person is seeking from others (mukti) already lies within.
