It was your dream. That means you have to understand it in the context of your own life. Dreams do not have absolute meanings. Some are simply the brain processing and integrating the previous day's experiences. The real question is not "what does my dream mean?" but rather, "how is what I experienced significant to me?" The kirpan stands for the same thing as Lord Shiva. The power to cut through lies and illusions and reveal the universal truth beyond the dance of samsara. Shiva represents change of state and so does the kirpan.
