Hello! Welcome to the Kali Yuga! :)

This is exactly what the Buddha said as well: "The world is engrossed in suffering." Samsara (Sansaar) is the wheel of life-death-rebirth. As the wheel turns, the pain of separation from God, from that boundless sea of love and light, is felt by all who incarnate. In the throes of that pain of separation, people act in various ways to fill the void within themselves. Maya comes in millions of tasty flavors and, caught in that beautiful net of illusion, people cause harm to others in their attempt to satisfy themselves. Jast as Guru Nanak Dev Ji saw the pain and suffering brought by emperor Babar, we see the pain and suffering of our times.

It's not about turning away and ignoring the world. We are part of that world. Each of us is called to act and speak in our own unique way. We are each given a domain in which we have the power to create change by serving, uplifting and elevating people. Find that domain in your life and act there. Take care of others and let God take care of you.

Remember, your outer life, environments, companions, surroundings, etc. are a reflection of your own inner life. You are not a victim. Change your inner landscape. Change your thoughts. "man jeetai jag jeet" control your own mind and direct it to the domain in which you can create change and then create the world in which you wish to live. Lamenting the state of the world from the sidelines of the game will only make you depressed and unhappy.
